Tabi - Soul of the Journey

In an age where every street corner is pinned to a map and every hidden gem is captured before you arrive, the magic of travel—the true Tabi—is at risk of being lost.

We believe that when a journey is too predictable, you stop feeling the wonder and start watching the clock. At Tabi Trails, we provide authentic, intimate group travel for those who still want to be surprised.

Authentic Japan Journeys

Our Tabi Trails series of short Japan small group tours are designed for those who seek more than just a checklist of sights. We believe that the best way to see our country is through authentic and intimate group travel—the kind that allows you to step off the crowded tourist circuit and into the living heart of Japanese culture.

Our Meaning of "Trails"

While our name speaks of trails, we are not a hiking company. To us, a "trail" is the invisible thread that connects a historic castle to a hidden vineyard, or a master craftsman’s workshop to a quiet morning by an alpine stream. Our journeys are carefully balanced to be accessible to most people. You won’t need mountain climbing gear to join us; instead, you’ll need a sense of curiosity. We combine light walking with deep cultural experiences, artisanal food, and stunning scenery to ensure a pace that feels like a holiday, not a workout.

Who We Journey With

Our journeys are designed for those who want to see Japan through a different lens.

You’ll feel at home on our trails if:

  • You are curious: You prefer the story behind the craft to the view from a tour bus window.

  • You value intimacy: You enjoy the energy of traveling with just 12 people.

  • You are adaptive: you’re happy to swap your shoes for slippers and embrace local customs with a smile.

  • You stay positive: You know that the best "unmapped" moments usually happen when you’re open to a detour.

The Tabi vibe is soulful, small-scale, and strictly "no hiking boots required."
